Hi, we are Bernadette and Stephen, along with our two daughters, Erin (10 years old) and Freya (5 years old).
Lodge House was first setup by Bernadette's parents Ofelia and Rafael Vong in 1996. Over the years, their household has seen over 60 students lived and finished their secondary educations and their Bachelor Degrees from universities across the country. Many have returned to their home in Macau and Hong Kong and are now enjoying a lucrative job, and many of them have also became parents themselves.
While Ofelia and Rafael have now retired, as a daughter growing up in their household, Bernadette has learned and practiced a lot from logistics, organising, day-to-day functionalities and care that is provided to the students who were living full-time as part of the household, as well as holidays boarders from boarding schools. In their last few years as guardians, Bernadette also took part in administration responsibilities and helped students application to boarding schools and summer camps.
Bernadette and Stephen jointly share a creative business (POCO ImageWork Ltd.) that they set up together, Bernadette is fluent in both Cantonese-Chinese and English and with Stephen as a native British, the couples are now looking to help international students who are looking for new experience and world-class education offered by many acclaimed institutions in the UK.
We are situated in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, where it is conveniently to get to many different locations including Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Midlands. Our property is a four-bedroom house, with three bathrooms/toilets, sitting room, kitchen, and a home-studio that spreads over a three-floor townhouse, with a back and front garden within a quiet neighbourhood in Loves Farm.
At the moment for holidays home-stay student, we can only accept one female student, who will be sharing the top floor of the property with our two daughters where their individual bedrooms are situated. We also have two cats, Dusk and Biscuit, who have been our flurry friends for over seven years. Perfect for children who loves animals.
OUR SERVICES:
We accept boarding school students to stay for their mid-term holidays, long weekends and Easter holiday. Besides the boarding service we also take responsibility as an immediate guardian.
This typically includes: dealing with school directly for all emergencies, picking up and returning your child back to boarding school after the school holidays. We also take your child to and from airport as needed, charge is by per trip, fees is depending on distance.
In most cases, we are very flexible to meet our student's needs, and our focus is to making sure your child is all good and ready for the school, from helping them to get all their necessities for day-to-day use, to ensure their well being is looked after so they can concentrate to their studies.
